A little bit of a circus...

The other day Macey wanted something and both Hayden and Caitlyn were crying, so I told her "just a minute Macey." She said "Mom, you're a little bit of a circus." Yes Macey, I am. Here is a little bit of background as to why we are such a circus.

In October we had the twins. One week after having the twins, Zacc called me to inform me had had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He wasn't having any problems or pain, but because thyroid cancer runs in his family and I am paranoid, I made him go and get checked. His first appointment showed that he had nodules on his thyroid. The doctor told him not to worry and that 50% of people have nodules on their thyroids. After having the nodules biopsied, we learned they were cancerous. Zacc had his thyroid removed in November and is currently on an iodine free diet in preparation for this radiation treatment on Friday. Apparently, thyroid cancer has a really high cure rate, which is wonderful news...learning that your husband has cancer when your twins are one week old is not such wonderful news.

The week after we found out that Zacc has cancer (the twins were two weeks old), Zacc presented his final project and graduated from Westminster and we rented out our townhouse and moved in with my parents while we continue to look for a house.

The twins are now 3 months old and Hayden is doing a lot better. Having him on two reflux medicines has made a world of difference. He doesn't scream every second he is awake. He is actually a pretty happy baby and smiles a ton. Caitlyn has always been super happy and is almost rolling over. I can't believe how fast the time has gone since they have been born (my pregnancy sure didn't go by quickly). Macey always tells me that she doesn't want the babies to be little. As much as I want them to be bigger so they will sleep through the night, I also want them to stay little...after all, these might be the last babies we have. Zacc and I are not sure how the radiation will effect his reproductive organs but feel very blessed to have three beautiful healthy kids. We really are so blessed :)

Things are crazy and I keep telling myself that someday things will all be better and we will look back at this crazy time in our lives and laugh. But for right now, Macey you are right...I am a little bit of a circus!

Hypocrite

I have never been a fan of private blogs. I have to log in to view them, I can't tell if they were recently updated, and it makes blog stalking a lot harder...jk...(well, kind of kidding). But after some random comments on my blog and some persuasion from Zacc, I am going to make our blog private. If you would like to read it (I promise I will post more often), please leave me your email in a comment. Thanks!
